I was actually looking for graduation gifts when I came across the beautiful necklace and I realized that it does not have to be for graduation, in fact everything on this necklace has deep meaning for my daughters first Mothers Day. The necklace is so pretty, delicate and feminine, but it's actually got some weight to it so it's not fragile and won't break easily. The chain is sterling silver and a good length and thickness, it won't snap in pieces, I would call it a box style chain. I DO wish it had a lobster clasp on it, I'm actually surprised and disappointed that it has a regular spring clasp, trying to decide if I'll remove a star for that, I might... Bt the necklace is so beautiful, and carries so much meaning I might overlook that, I'm sure we can replace it. My camera tends to change colors a bit, this stone is actually red- Garnet for January. I understand it's a lab created gem so that's ok because I already knew it, it is still looks nice. My granddaughter was born in January, so that's her birthstone, she was born in 2024, and that's the year on the necklace. We call her "Rosie" which is a shortened nickname for her, there is a rose on the necklace and it's color is rose-gold. The little heart inside the bigger heart symbolizes their pregnancy. Ironically if we were to design a necklace, it couldn't come out more meaningful than this. I actually teared up when I saw this and realized how symbolic it would be for my daughter, and that there couldn't be a better gift for her first Mothers Day. I'm not sure how many other "Rosie's" are out there, but all the other designs of this necklace could be perfect for any mother who gave birth this year, personalized with the birthstone. I also see that this would be a beautiful graduation gift, I think as the designer intended, but it could mean so much more! Yeah, I'll leave the 5 stars and change the clasp out ourselves. Simply Gorgeous!
