Before I start my review, I just want everyone to know that I’ve never been the sort of person that colors inside the lines, that follows the rules, that’s one of the lemmings that jumps of the bridge, too. I just don’t like being ‘one of the pack’. I don’t necessarily like standing out, I just like standing alone, making my OWN rules and decisions, ya know? Now, on to the review!I ordered this for my grandson. Who’s 7. So I broke about all the guidelines for this necklace. I didn’t do it just to be obstinate, I promise. I have REALLY good reasons. Let me elaborate. For Mother’s Day we got necklaces for his other 2 grandmas (one is a step, but a grandmother is a grandmother, and we take our job VERY seriously!) his aunt, and his mommy. His cousin has one, too. So I finally sat down with him and let him pick one out. He knew this was traditionally a girl’s necklace, but he didn’t care! Blue is his favorite color! He doesn’t understand the true meaning behind the words, but he knows it’s a compass, he knows it’s from me, and he does get that while it’s not a real compass my love will guide him throughout his life. Now, that’s not me talking, that’s what my astounding little grandson told me yesterday! Oh, I do love being a grandmother!! For me there’s another reason I wanted to get him something that some may say isn’t appropriate for him. I have emphysema and can’t guarantee that I’ll be here to SEE him graduate, so I try to do little things like this now, while I still can. I just adored the gift box this came in. That was almost as nice as the necklace! The chain is very sturdy. It’s had to be, to withstand the constant fidgeting of a 7 year old, lol. He just adores this necklace and the only time he takes it off is when it’s bathtime. I would definitely recommend this, for ANYONE special in your life, male or female, young or old. My young man treasures it, and I wouldn’t hesitate in buying him a replacement.

I ordered this as a gift for my bonus daughter. She is getting married soon and feels like she is going to put a lot of herself aside. I told her to always follow her dreams and this is a Great remind her of that. I gave it to her at her wedding to remind her from this day. Forward to always follow her dreams. They fit well it was shiny and it was very pretty overall. Very much worth the higher price tag as it is silver. Have a really good weight to it also. Great reminder for anyone to follow their dreams.

My granddaughter really liked this and it's very pretty. However the chain broke easily and for the cost I thought it should be made with better materials. But it does look nice and would be a good gift for a 5th grader or maybe 8th grader, a high schooler would probably want something really, with a longer chain

I thought the sweet sentiment to, "Follow Your Dreams," was just perfect for a new grad. It's pretty, shiny, a bit large. If the person you are buying for likes more dainty jewelry, this might be too large. I think it would be a nice gift upon finishing middle school, high school, or college. Very pretty, just a bit larger than I would wear on a day to day basis.
