I originally purchased a smaller, quartz pocket watch from Gotham (GWC15028SR), but upon receiving it, I was left unsatisfied.. there is nothing fundamentally wrong with that watch, but it's lightweight, and the face is a little small, giving it an overall modern appearance. Ultimately, what I wanted was a watch that looked and felt like it was a family heirloom passed down through the ages.Well, I decided I needed a gold one to complement my silver one, so I took the plunge with this Gotham GWC14104G, and boy am I glad I did. This model has the heft and size of my old vintage Elgin, but at a price that makes it an unbelievable value. It's a pleasure to hold in the hand, while imagining trips through the countryside by rail.If you're a fan of pocket watches, vintage style, or especially if you attend historical recreation events, I think you'll be pleased with this purchase. I can already see me purchasing a few more as gifts.

The bow on these watches are less than fictional. They all bind and are not free similar to a chain link. The time piece itself is nice. The first one had a bad spring in it, but was replaced at lighting speed. (impressive) I like the overall time piece. The second one has been keeping great time, however that defective bow on top is frustrating.

I received this watch 11 days ago and was impressed the moment I opened the box. Unlike many other modern mechanical pocket watches, this one feels quite similar in weight to the vintage Waltham pocket watches I collect. The winding and setting of the watch are crisp and easy and unlike other modern pocket watches there is no hand creep (where the hands jump forward or backward a minute or two) when pushing the stem in after setting the watch.I have carried this watch daily and after 11 days it has gained exactly three minutes of time - roughly 17 seconds per day. Not bad for a modern mechanical pocket watch - although not quite railroad standard of +/- 30 seconds a week.All in all this is a great pocket watch and I highly recommend it!

A very beautiful looking mechanical gold pocket watch. I' also bought an extra watch chain with a fob drog and T-bar. Very nice accessory for m y black herringbone Peak Blinders three-piece suit. Will deffinantly buy from the same seller again.
