What I Like: 1) Arabic numerals (hate Roman numerals). 2) Large numbers. I'm old and use reading glasses. I can read the time on this watch at a glance without glasses. 3) No cover. I had purchased a pocket watch with a snap-close cover before with the idea that it would protect the watch. Two problems: First, you have to take out the watch and perform the action of opening the cover. That just takes time and an extra unnecessary step. I can just pull this out and see the time immediately. Second, my other pocket watch had the cover catch break after one month, thus the cover wouldn't stay shut making the watch next to useless. One of the reasons why I chose this model which has the date (I could take or leave that function) is that - vs. the otherwise identical-looking model for half the price - this model has a scratch-resistant mineral glass crystal and is water-resistant, which the cheaper version does not have. I feel this is adequate enough protection which eliminates the need for a closing protective cover which is just something else to break and adds an annoying additional step to seeing the time. 4) The chain is secure and substantial and makes it easier to just pull the chain to remove the watch from my pocket eliminating having to fish in my pocket for it. It is used mostly with my jeans which has that watch pocket (you did know that's what that little pocket in the right side jeans pocket was originally for right?). Love it.
