Jessica is right, it's not a real opal. If you're looking for a real opal, don't buy. It is a shame, because the setting would look amazing with a real opal. I give this ring 5 stars because I absolutely love it and wear it most days. It's comfortable to wear. The "stone" is shiny plastic or epoxy or something, but I wouldn't say that it looks like it unless you look really close. What gives it shimmer is tiny iridescent ribbons beneath the surface. It's a fun statement ring and it makes me happy to look at. It's quirky and unique. I love the setting, I love the fun "stone". It's held up quite well, no tarnish or stained fingers. I'll be buying another one if it does break down. Some people will really love it, others may not. For what it is, it is great quality. I don't think that you'll be disappointed with it functionally.

In the review photos, the stone looks really big. It looks so big as if the prongs can barely hold it. Upon receiving my ring, that is not the case. I expected a much larger stone. It's very pretty and unique, but I did not receive what I expected.

It’s so pretty and just as big and amazing as I imagined. 2 issues though, the stone is loose, I can hear it rattling and I can’t wear it for too long because the branches rub the surrounding fingers. For the price though, it’s perfect.

Love the looks of this ring. The setting is as good as the picture. Yes this is costume jewelry and the stone is obviously fake but when viewed sideways the color goes from top to bottom. It is not a picture on the bottom with clear plastic on top like I have seen on other stones, which is a plus for me.

When I first saw this ring I absolutely loved it! It’s fairly inexpensive so I didn’t expect it to be perfect. The upside is it looks exactly as it’s pictured. It’s so pretty! However, within 5 minutes of wearing it, the area of my finger surrounding the ring turned black. I didn’t get it wet or anything. It also isn’t a typical size 8, it was entirely too small so I would go a size up if you decide to purchase. Luckily I was able to get a refund.

The band bent within a day. Was not impressed. Wasn’t expecting super high quality since it was cheap but was hoping for something a little better.
