I didn't purchase these earrings BUT all I wear is sterling silver. I read some of these reviews of people saying they aren't 925 sterling silver because they turned black. Silver TURNS black when it is DIRTY. Silver tarnishes quickly. All you need is 1. A silver cloth polisher OR 2. Toothpaste and you clean that sucker right off. I use toothpaste on ALL silver sterling and stainless.You may also get a green goop on your ear or growingnon the silver. When that happens it's because you are sleeping with the earrings on and NOT cleaning them. Your silver should always be taken off, wiped down. Especially earrings because of the goop develops more .Silver becomes black because of hydrogen sulfide (sulfur), a substance that occurs in the air. When silver comes into contact with it, a chemical reaction takes place and a black layer is formed. Silver oxidizes faster in places with a lot of light and high humidity.

I'm severely allergic to nickel. I am not allergic to sterling silver. In fact I'm wearing sterling silver rings right now. That's how I know that these earrings are not sterling silver, they cause an allergic reaction in my ear piercings where I wore them.If you are allergic to nickel, do not buy these. Because whatever they are made of is unknown, they obviously contain nickel, and therefore they can't be .925 sterling silver.

update: changed rating from 5 to 2! Cute but not real silver! In a few weeks they looked black!First rating below! Still applies except for the fact that they are not pure silver!Dainty tiny earrings, yet, so sturdy. Perfect for second or third piercing. Love them. Would definitely recommend.
