Refurbished but looks and works like brand new. Great price

[No compensation of any kind was received in connection with this review.]I'll try to focus my comments on this specific refurbished item, rather than on the Garmin Venu itself. That said, it's odd that the name of the product is mis-typed. It arrived in the box pictured in the Amazon listing, a box that contained the watch, a charging cable, and nothing else. I've got a Garmin Instinct watch that uses the same cable, so this cable is a useful backup. That also means that I already had Garmin Connect installed on my phone, so setting up the Venu was easy and familiar. But setup might not be so simple for someone less accustomed to Garmin devices. The Venu watch was cosmetically perfect on arrival; not a mark anywhere.Setup and pairing with my phone was easy and painless. The watch has since updated its software a few times, and Garmin Connect works with it exactly as it does with my Garmin Instinct, which I did not buy as refurbished. I've installed a few watchfaces with Garmin Connect IQ, and that process was straightforward. I've played with quite a few of the settings and everything seemed to react as expected. With Activity Tracking enabled, I get about 6 days on a charge of the battery. I usually disable that option and then get just over 10 days on a charge. Admittedly, my usage habits don't stress the battery a lot: I don't play music on the Venu, I'm not constantly fiddling with it, and my preferred watchface is low impact. Still, 6 -- 10 days is pretty fair; I'd conclude there's nothing wrong with the battery. In short, I haven't yet found anything wrong with this product: it appears to be genuine, and it functions as it would had I paid full price. My reservations (and they are minor) relate to the design and construction of the watch, and those would apply equally to the full priced item. With that in mind, 5 stars: this is one of the better purchases I've made on Amazon. It's the best of many smartwatches that I've tried, and by choosing refurbished I got a discount of around $100 from Amazon's usual price, along with no shortcomings that I can find. Excellent!

I had a magnetic strap on my first Garmin Venu and, sure enough, it eventually got sucked away in mid-chore. I panicked, assuming I would eventually find it (I haven't) but immediately ordered another 'just in case." I don't use anywhere near all its functions but I tend to be sedentary and it keeps me focused on moving. I was fine with the simple Vivofit but they're pretty homely. The Venu looks good and makes me happy. The battery only lasts about 5 days but it recharges very quickly.

Bad quality, the product got a yellow color a few days after the purchase. I don't recommend it.

This was my first fitness watch. Just wanted the most basic and cheap. TLDR: it’s been relatively ok and can’t complain since price was so cheap.Far as the renewed aspect, the watch came looking very new, I wouldn’t have been able to tell you if used or new. Battery wise, however,I’ve been experiencing problems. I’d charge at night and when I take off in the morning, it says no battery and needs charging, then I have to plug the charger back in and take out, and then it says 100%. Not sure if software or hardware. After first 10 days or so of use, I’m noticing my battery is running out much much faster. When I first got, I thought would last me a few days between charges, but now, I see the longest it will last is 2 days. If I work out both days, won’t last even the 2 days and would need a charge on the second day even without gps or music. Im not sure if this is normal for this model or if it’s a refurbish issue. I suspect this watch won’t last too long because of this battery life issue. But I intended for it to be my first introduction to see if fitness watches would be useful to me at all. So far, it’s serving that purpose but I suspect it won’t last half a year due to this battery issue.I bought because I wanted a cheap watch with basic but reliable functions, I considered returning due to the battery issues that are not instilling confidence, but since replace option doesn’t seem available, only return option available, and because I don’t see any other substitute in this price range with this many features and Garmin sensor reliability, obverse made up my mind to use it until it stops working, not worth the hassle of returning for me. Since I’ve gotten more used to the watch functionality, I’ve gotten quite attached to it, replaced the horrible strap which has that annoying locking nub on the second loop that made the watch feel so horrible to put on or take off, and got a cheap stretchy nylon band on Amazon, much better. I found HR seems very accurate and fast. Functions took a long time to get used to, but since I have gotten used to, feel fine.Downloading music apps was horrible. If any problems power cycle the watch and it will start again. If any problems with this watch first snd foremost power cycle. Seems to fix a lot of issues. Deezer and Spotify needs sub fees, so I downloaded Amazon music instead since I’ve got prime. Trying to download a playlist takes forever, think maybe half an hour, but once done, no problems. Paired with Bluetooth easily. So far, I’m liking the Garmin way of doing things once I got used to it. I mean the quality sensors, no nonsense aspects, no subscriptions required, etc., But battery is concerning and if this watch finally dies a few months down the road, because the renewed price and flash deal price was so good, I don’t think I can complain much. If it lasts me 6 months, for what I paid, I’ll think I’ve gotten my moneys worth, and I’ll likley look for a similar replacement but maybe a newer model just for the increased battery. In a nutshell, basic functional smart watch that feels like a very good value if price is factored in. Suspect battery.

I bought it at a bargain price and Im super happy with my purchase. It is like new. The battery last more than 5days for me as Im not always using gps and just using it as a normal watch. Tested the water resistance as well. Everything works perfect👍

I really like this watch. It's a clean design and the AMOLED looks clear and pretty vibrant. I love that I'm able to track my runs and other activities with this watch and it can sync up to my run apps like Nike and Strava. It might not have all the latest smart watch features like having a microphone and speaker but it does what I need it for and the price I got it for was an exceptional deal. I also like the get I can listen to music on it with my headphones without needing my phone when I go on runs.
