This is a standard 90° staple for body jewelry. I ordered the shortest size, and it looks as pictured and feels like surgical steel. I had no problems unscrewing the tops of the jewelry for placement. The bar in the middle section is flatter, to rest below the skin, and the two posts are round, like any other body jewelry (so the internally threaded tops screw in with no problems). Overall, I have no complaints so far. If I discover any problems, I'll come back to update my review.

initially i thought this wasn’t 14 gage because it looks so bulky & scary.. but I did my sternum piercing and lucky got it in!!! no struggle for me personally.. would buy again! :)
