Picture CLEARLY shows ball as backing, however, it came with a very tiny, narrow, flat backing/stud, too small to use for my helix piercing, so had to switch it with another one I had because I really liked the shape and size of the "diamond". VERY disappointed, really wanted the titanium stud...
