UPDATE 1/1/2024: I wore these earrings all evening and wasn't conscious of the size or weight. There was no itching or skin irritation from the posts and metal mounting. The only issue was that even though I had done my best to straighten the damaged posts without destroying the earrings, they hung asymmetrically and at differing angles. Maybe others didn't notice but I did.------------------------------------------ORIGINAL REVIEW 12/26/2023: I love these dramatic earrings – gorgeous, with lots of sparkle. Large and quite heavy, but I expected that. The “pearl” is affixed to the bottom of the crystal snowflake as shown, and doesn’t move.These earrings were intended for a 1940s New Year’s Eve dance – but very unfortunately, were inadequately packaged in a plastic bag and not a box. Inevitably, the posts arrived badly bent as there was absolutely no protection against crushing. Using very gentle pressure I was able to mostly straighten the wires and will be able to wear them as planned – but sadly, cannot recommend them until the seller corrects the packaging issue and these earrings have a reasonable chance of arriving undamaged.
