It looks like it would be good for travel because the sides have tabs that snap closed to keep the hanging necklaces secure, the top lid snaps shut, and the top has a handle on it. But the drawers are not secured and slide out if the box is tipped forward accidentally. I learned that the hard way. I caught it before the jewelry in the drawers could fall out but it was close. We live in Tornado alley and I wanted a box I could grab along with a flashlight if we had to go to our shelter. If that happens I'll have to be careful with this box.I like all the earring and ring storage. I keep silver bracelets in a roll I made of silver cloth and the drawer is barely wide enough to hold the roll. It curves a little so it fits but drawers an inch wider would have been helpful. I like the pockets at the bottom of the necklace hooks so the chains don't hang out the bottom of the box, but I have to lift each chain out to find the necklace I want to use. The mirror in the lid is too small to be useful, but its pretty. I doubt I'll use the travel box. It is cute enough to give as a gift to a child perhaps.Overall I am happy with my purchase. With so many similar jewelry boxes to choose from it was hard to select one. I went with this one because it had one more drawer than many others, and I needed the extra one for bracelets.

I like it. Enough room for my husband to store a few of his everyday items as well. Even though these re is a handle, I would not recommend carrying this around as the drawers don't lock.

I was very happy with this jewelry box. It is well designed and has enough flexibility to accomodate different types and sizes of jewelry. Necklace hanging area is well thought out and doesnt let necklaces flop around. Small footprint great for minimizing tabletop space. Seems pretty well made for the price. Very happy with purchase.
