For years, I wore expensive watches. I switched to wearing quality Timex watches. They are decent quality and very inexpensive. You get a name brand at a low price. I get bored wearing the same watch so I added this one. So far I like it. All the functions work. Timex is the only watch with indiglo . Other watches light up, but Timex watches are a bit easier to read. I can not find any flaws. watch looks good. it is comfortable . Easy to read Day or night. Has date, day, Time.

This Timex Base Shock watch is a great choice for those looking for a cheap casual/tactical wristwatch. It has a medium size face that's great for all wrist sizes. I bought the green camo model and it has a nice retro 4-color woodland pattern. The bezel case itself is a strong resin that feels like aluminum and the Indiglo lights up nicely but not too bright. Some have complained about the smaller size of the digits compared to older Expedition models but I have no problem reading them even with aging eyes and they're still larger than a Casio. However, the watch face is just a clear acrylic plastic that will scratch and eventually the Indiglo will wear out after long use (which reflects in the price). Timex needs to come out with more color options and replacement bands to really compete with the G-Shock market but otherwise the Base Shock is a great option.

I've worn g-shocks for years, but am no longer a fan. My g-shocks constantly developed condensation in the watch face and sending them in for repairs took weeks, if not months.So far, I have been very impressed with this Timex watch. In my opinion, this Timex is superior to the g-shock, for several reasons. (1) This Timex watch costs less. (2) This Timex watch as a "night" mode, g-shocks do not! In the Timex night mode, which is activated by pressing the indigo button, a little moon appears. For the next 8-hours, pressing any button also automatically activates the night light. G-shock does not have a comparable feature! (3) With this Timex you can activate the night light AND switch through the different modes. You cannot do this with the g-shock. If you activate the night light in a g-shock, and try to switch to a different mode, it kills the night light immediately. (4) In my opinion, the Timex night light looks cooler. Whereas the g-shock illuminates the entire screen, the Timex only lights up the numerals, which makes the Timex “pop” a little more in the dark (see picture).So far, very happy!

I was looking for a replacement for my 15+ year old Timex Ironman Shock with Indiglo that I would wear hiking, doing yard work, and on weekend outings. I still like my old watch, but the wife says it is too ugly and worn down to wear anywhere other than while digging in the back yard so I began the search for a replacement.When I first started looking I saw this watch and said "this doesn't look as cool as the G-Shocks" so I ordered a couple of those to try out. In the end I came back to this watch for the following reasons:1) Functionality - When I look at the watch I know what time it is immediately. If it's dark, the indiglo lights up the digits perfectly (although differently than my old version).2) Familiarity - I didn't realize until I tried other brands that something as simple as swapping the function of the buttons around (Mode, Start\stop, etc.) could mess with me. I had gotten quite used to the Timex layout.3) Feel - While this watch is slightly larger than my old one, it isn't anywhere as big as the Casio G-Shock watches. Plus the straps are of a softer rubber and the weight and balance seems lighter\better.4) Price - I would have paid more for the better looking (IMO) G-Shock if it weren't for the other three items.

I haven't owned a Timex in over 50 years and I'm glad I purchased this one. I really like the display, it's so clear with well defined letters and numerals, far superior to the Brand C, that I had been purchasing. My only wish is that Timex made an automatic time piece in this style, that's one of the reasons I had been purchasing Brand C. But after having this Timex about 1 week, I don't mind that it is not an automatic time keeper. I also like the fact that it is shock and water resistant it's definitely something I must have in my everyday watch. If you're irritated with the automatic time keeping of your Brand C, try Timex again, well worth the money.

Kind of challenging to figure out how to operate, you have to go on line for the directions. But it looks great, functions perfectly and since I do landscaping it takes a pretty good beating every day and have had no problems. Excellent shock watch and a great price.
