It possesses an antique aura about the design & colors. Seems very much like it could pass for a real Fabergé of the Tsar’s era. Almost masculine with the deep forest green enamel, realistic birds, branches, even the twig stand, I could picture this in the Tsar’s study. The tiny colored gemstones carefully inlaid, enhancing the flowers & buds. Excellent craftsmanship. Unique diagonal/vertical opening reveals intricately detailed nest with hatchlings, their little beaks open, being fed! Ideal gift for a lady or man, an environmentalist or nature-lover. Antique brass adds to its turn-of-the century allure. Very classy. Good size. I may have to give this one to my son.
