These are pretty tiny - maybe a quarter of an inch. The description does specify 7mm, so I can't fault the item for it size, but in the photo, the earring appears normal-sized for an adult. They seem, actually more suited for children.

These are very pretty earrings. I like the tear-drop shape which is different from most of my other stud type earrings. The size is just right for casual wear, but would not be out of place for dressier occasions, as well. They are true to the dimensions given and look exactly as I would expect from the pictures in the description.I chose the garnet and the color is a medium red with a soft inner glow outdoors in bright sunlight. It has crisp facets and reflects light beautifully. Indoors and in dimmer light, it takes on deeper, richer tones, and is even more lovely (and still quite sparkly).It is not clear to me from the product description whether these gemstones are simulated (made to look like garnets) or synthetic (actual garnets, but made in the lab). The price seems more in line with the former but the implication from the given information seems to be the latter, which would make these an even better deal than the already are.The garnets are held securely in a simple but lovely 3-pronged cage-like setting that really shows off the beauty of the gemstones. The sterling silver setting is beautifully polished, as are the posts and backings. The posts are a bit longer than usual but not so much that they stab the area behind my ear. They feel robust, so I don't feel as if they will bend through normal use. I was happy to find that the backings are smooth as well as large enough for me to handle easily when I am putting the earrings on or taking them off. They click into place and hold the earrings securely so I have no worries about losing one.The earrings are not heavy and they don't pull on my earlobes. The posts do not irritate my sensitive ears, so I can easily wear these earrings all day. I think they look considerably more expensive than they are, and they arrived nicely packaged in a pretty gift box.
