These are glass plus slightly flared on the ends with a strip of color on the middle. These are not solid colored as it may appear in some of the provided pictures. With that said, they don't need to be solid colored, when in your ears that strip of color faces out and it looks solid.These are not beveled so they do go into and out of the ear easier than some of the "sharper" edged earrings. They don't cause hygienic issues from what I can tell and are great for those who have issues with silicone or steel plugs. The solid glass holds up very well against dropping and accidentally falling out of the ear. Def recommend.
