It's long and the ball is big and it sounds like a little bell I am only 17 weeks pregnant so I can't tell you how my baby will react to it once he is born but my nephew is 2 and he loves it he will get distracted playing with it but only caution he is smart and opened the locker and took the ball out and so does my 5 year old so it could be a choking hazard I was carrying him and he was just playing I dint notice until I saw it in his hand it opens so you can change the colors but it's supposed to sooth babies in the womb and when they are born they recognize the sound so just be careful other than that it's beautiful and. I get alot of compliments
