Surgical Steel
316L surgical stainless steel is a high-quality and widely-used alloy composed primarily of iron, chromium, nickel, and molybdenum. Its remarkable biocompatibility and non-reactive nature with bodily tissues makes it well-suited for medical applications, medical implants and body jewelry. However, because it does contain a small percentage of nickel (10-12%), if you are sensitive to nickel then you will want to look at our titanium jewelry.
Titanium
Grade 23 Titanium (also known as Ti-4V-ELI) is what we use in our titanium body jewelry. It contains 6% aluminum, 4% vanadium, 0.13% oxygen. This grade is what is most commonly used in medical implants and body jewelry. Becaus it has no nickel, it is excellent for people whose skin has reacted to surgical stainless steel piercing jewelry.

I have small hands, but mainly got this for my Loop Earplugs to keep around my ears so not to keep tucking them into pockets or losing them. It works, but it kept popping out my earplugs since I used the hoop ends to hold them, so I spent more time trying to hold it in my ears long enough to work than actually working. But it's good to keep from losing them, so there's a plus for that!
