In the jewelry information section, it states stainless steel, so I thought this necklace was a stainless-steel chain plated with gold, which is what many necklaces at the same price point are made from.After I ordered it, I went back and read the description, which says gold elastic cord. If I had seen that I probably wouldn't have ordered it. I thought that it might look like the gold elastic which is used for tying gift boxes.When I received this necklace, I also received another piece of jewelry, and coincidentally, the gift box was tied in the above-mentioned gold elastic. That gift-box elastic was more impressive than this necklace! It looks like an ultra-fine nylon fishing line. And you can barely see it around my neck.One end is a loop, in which you pull the pearls through, lariat-style. The spray of pearls is quite pretty, but ruined by the horrible makeshift, junky-looking nylon cord. I’m going to put it on a rod and dangle it in the lake to see if the pearls lure any fish.
