Somehow I imagined this would be bigger than it is, and I have no idea why. It's a perfect size to hold a few small items, for example my size 11 rings. It'll ultimately be used for smaller rings, which I think makes more sense for it, but nothing wrong as it is.The quality of the bowl is great, and while I have no real barometer on which to judge what a handmade, USA made, pewter item like this should cost, the roughly $25 asking price seems pretty reasonable to me.It's got a decent heft to it, being pewter, and it's nice knowing it's a softer metal than pretty much anything you'd find used in jewelry as well. If something lands too hard the bowl will be more likely to get dinged than your ring, etc.Despite the heft, it's not what I would call heavy, and the bottom is smooth. It's not something I'd consider a big scratch risk to the surface you place it on but a little rubber adhesive pad or something might be a good thing to add if you're concerned about it skittering off unintentionally. It definitely doesn't seem like it'd be cat proof either way.

Pretty dish, way small. Check the size before you buy.

I bought my first oil lamp from Danforth decades ago and it still looks and works like new. This jewelry dish is smaller than I was expecting even though the measurements are very clear on the product page. Even so, I like it very much. It is the perfect size to keep my rings when not wearing them. The dish is sturdy and the tree of life motif is pretty. I love that it is handmade and I feel good supporting a small Vermont business that has been around for a long time.
