It wouldn't be for a formal occasion but definitely fancy to casual.The stone is all one piece and absolutely gorgeous. There's no paint or lacquer, just thendetails cut into the stone. It's not heavy to wear and stands out when wearing. It's about the size of a half-dollar. The cord is just smooth leather like cord. Nothing fancy. It could certainly be replaced with a nicer chain or other material, but looks fine and casual as it is.I wore it several days and in the shower. No adverse reactions in the stone or my skin.
