I know they try to make listing photos look as good as possible in order to sell a product, but wow....the photos of this necklace just do NOT match how sparkly and vibrant it is in person when light is shining directly on it. Depending on how you prefer your jewelry, this piece reflects so much light that it practically glows. It's been awhile since I've seen faux gemstones give off this much sparkle and shine. The pink tourmaline in the center is almost overwhelmed by the surrounding clear zirconia. Same for the silver setting and chain. While I can't find any information to prove it, I suspect the cross and chain have been plated with rhodium. This is a good thing if indeed this is true as rhodium plating helps keep sterling silver from tarnishing, protects the metal from scuffs and dings, and ups the shine factor significantly. I almost wish I had ordered the necklace in Style #3 rathe than Style #4 in order to cut back on the brilliance a bit. Truly one of the better jewelry pieces I've ordered here on Amazon. My mom's birth month is October. Pink tourmaline is a nice alternative to opal as natural opals are notoriously fragile. She very much likes this necklace and the way it catches the light.

This is a beautiful necklace, and a beautiful gift if that’s the route you choose to go. It’s sparkles and the chain is nice quality. The cross is a good size and has a little heft to it. It’s a nice piece of jewelry for the price, and one that I’d expect to last for awhile. So far no gems or anything have fallen out, they seem to be firmly held in place!
