I wanted something small to put my late husband's pic in. I don't like bulky necklaces so this was perfect. My only complaint is I ordered a longer and stronger chain to wear it (not chain included in purchase in pictures). You will have to have a tiny picture made to place inside as it is small, but I love it.

The chain is a little small, so it can be a bit difficult to see the pictures in side if you're the one wearing it (that said, I should've thought to put in the pictures upside down so when the wearer is opening it they can see it from their point of view. I guess it depends on what you want but something to keep in mind).Someone said you could put two pictures inside, this is true only if you glue in the picture on the abalone side, because there's no real place for it otherwise. This I did do, using super glue, but be careful not to get glue at the hinge (don't want to glue it shut) or where it can be seen (it's a bit corrosive). If you accidentally do, try using nail polish remover on a q-tip (be careful to not get it on your picture) to remove the glue (not the corrosion, that part will stay).The picture itself, while it does need to be small, it's possible to do if you know your way a bit around photo shop. It's possible to make the picture small and crystal clear, it's just all about resolution (set it for at least 300 dpi). It may take a couple of resizing of the image (emphasis on image; don't change the resolution, keep that at 300 dpi) practice before you get the size you want. I also recommend using a small hole punch to cut out your picture; I used a 5/8" / 1.59 CM circle punch which gets very close, but you'll still need to trim it down a little--still, way easier to start with a circle than trying to make one. Also, you're not likely to fit a picture of two or more faces. If you want two faces, glue one on one side, and glue/insert one on the other (this is what I did. I took a single picture that had two people in it, then separately inserted their faces).I used matt photo paper, so I'm not sure how it'd look with glossy.Since this is a gift, I can't yet post a picture. I'll ask permission after giving the gift, and see if I can update this post with a picture.Cheers.

Purchase was for my wife as a special gift, since she enjoys compass rose jewelry, and this piece uniquely is a locket with celtic knot design. I would have rated 5 stars,, except 2" extension was not included as described. At 18", the chain is still acceptable, so I decided to keep the beautiful compass rose necklace.

Not worth the price I paid for this. It is a very cute necklace and it's sturdy enough but it's so small that any picture that goes in wouldn't really be visible and the advertisement for it gives off the impression that it's a lot bigger than it really is. If you just want something cute then this is a good pendant but of you want a locket for what a locket is supposed to be for then I strongly recommend finding ng a different locket
