These earrings are a fairly large, thick hoop, so you might expect them to be quite heavy, but in reality, they are quite lightweight. I don't even feel them when they're on. And, I really appreciate the fact that the post is sterling silver so there is no irritation. I don't have sensitive ears, but still, they can get irritated if the wrong metal is used.These earrings look like real gold. The 18k gold plating really does its job well. I have some solid gold earrings, given to me by my partner, but I don't wear them often because I tend to lose earrings, and losing a actual gold earring would be sort of catastrophic, especially monetarily. With these earrings, I don't have to worry. (But I love them so much, I still don't want to lose one!)Even though these earrings are a little big, they aren't so big that they look ostentatious. They look fine for work, casual days, or date night. The plating looks like real gold. Well, it is real gold! The earrings look like solid gold rather than gold plating over sterling silver. I get many compliments on them each time I wear them.Because these earrings are so lightweight and the post is sterling silver, they are very comfortable to wear. I've worn them for 12-15 hours at a time with no problem. I could probably sleep in them, but I wouldn't advise doing so.I love these earrings so much, I'm going to purchase a pair in silver and a pair in rose as well. And, I'll buy a pair in rose for my niece. Rose gold is her all time favorite, and she loves to wear anything pink or rose, so these will be a good "Just to say I love you" present for her.Great value for the money. It looks like I paid a lot, lot more.
