I bought this watch for my fiance (then-boyfriend) for his birthday, and he absolutely loves it. It feels nice and heavy in the hand and the pieces all seem very sturdy. Beautiful packaging, and perfect for engraving too! My only quibble is with the picture frame, which does not fit a picture printed on normal photo paper. It might fit with normal printer paper, but we have yet to attempt that.

The kickstand on the back is useless. I was excited to find the only watch with a kickstand, but the watch would not sit properly and falls over. The watch is beautiful, but the kickstand was not thought out properly.

The packaging does not give any indication as to whether the watch is manual or electronic. if it is electronic there are no instructions on changing the battery. The loop for holding the chain slips out of the small indents in the neck. All together not well packaged or defined when opening.

One week of use: This is a great pocket watch. The weight of it is the first thing you notice. The feel is substantial. The face door opens well but doesn't open all the way to 90 degrees. It does lock back firmly The picture frame feature opens easily by rotating the marks on the frame to the north/south orientation and pops out. (If you don't place a photo there the frame rattles). There is a "kick stand" on the back to hold it up. It is a bit precarious and has balance problems.The dial is large and easy to read. The calendar window is good but could be larger (for us old folks). The chain provided is long enough to use for most vests and pants pockets. 4.5 stars. I'll keep it.

My wife loved it...gave it to her with a picture of her and her late father in it. The only complaint I have is that the photo isn't secure 100% it seems, no matter how hard we try. But she loves the product and it is beautiful. Great feel to it, solid, heavier than expected, but I think that's something that's comforting when it comes to pocket watches.

The watch is wonderful, It is easy to set, use, and is nice to look at. The only issue I have is that the watch is heavier and bulkier than I expected. I does not fit into the watch pocket of some of my trousers. Nevertheless, I like it enough to keep it.

What a terrific present. Bought this watch for my son recently and will never forget the look of delight on his face. Simple design, nice weight, great reputation from the Charles Hubert line. Nice bonus on this model is the "arm" on the back of the watch which folds nicely underneath. This allows the watch to stand on its own (think easel) and also means that the watch can be used practically on a bedside table as the timepiece it was intended, as opposed to just sitting in a dresser drawer waiting for a special occasion. A super gift for anyone who appreciates quality and the classics. A never go out of style item. Buy it!

Christmas gift for my husband...he requested a pocket watch and I bought this one after perusing several and reading reviews. Like the quartz rather than wind-up, and like the portrait feature which allows it to stand alone on a desk or nightstand. It comes with a chain, which I did not notice and ordered an extra and it turns out Hubby doesn't want to use the chain anyway. Very nice and good-looking watch!
