As of the writing of this review, I have owned this watch for just over 2 months. I use this watch every day; I prefer not to wear a watch on my wrist. The circumstances that this watch experiences are in the following manner: Fully wound every morning, tethered to my belt and resting within a front pants-pocket. It gets checked and opened perhaps 30 times in a given day. At the end of the day it goes in a drawer on the nightstand. The performance has been fully satisfactory. A full wind will last for roughly 40 hours. It has never stopped ticking short of its anticipated wind-down. It has started to gain nearly 60 seconds in a 24 hour period, so I have gotten accustomed to setting it backwards about 1 minute in the morning when I wind it up.The finish is very pleasing. The area near the crown has started to show very minor abrasions from the chain rubbing against it in my pocket. The closing mechanism as well as the hinge have held up perfectly with no indications of breakdown; squeaking or clicking when it shouldn't.The included chain is of good quality, and is the type that hooks over your belt, not the type that clasps around a belt-loop.The "half-hunter" window enables easy checking of the time without the need to open it, with the roman numerals painted in black on the front. The black hands of the watch offer good contrast, making it very easy for me to tell the time at a quick glance.Overall I call this a very classy, high-quality watch.

great watch; plenty of heft; accurate for a windup; looks like a million. but, skeleton watches are not for those who use reading glasses. you are best off getting a solid white face with black hands and you won't need reading glasses to see what time it is. for those with good close vision this watch is worth every penny. and no battery to change, either. includes a chain that will not kink. just a handsome time piece.

This watch is nice to look at but doesn't run when I pt it in my pocket. As long as it is on a shelf, it keeps ticking away but as soon as I put it into my pocket it stops. I'm going to retrn it and get my money back.

I bought this pocket watch to wear with my 3-piece suit for my wedding. After looking at many other pocket watches and reading comments from other purchasers, I decided on this one because of the functionality (can tell the time with opening the watch) and design (vintage look on front and back). I liked the watch so much, I decided to gift it to my groomsmen for the wedding as well. Wore it everyday for about a week on vacation, winding it daily and it kept time pretty well. The watch is probably one of the better purchases I have made on Amazon.

The watch looked great, but it would not keep time. It would run for a while, then stop. After I tapped on the back of the watch, it would start running again. I sent it back (no hassles, refund was posted quickly), and will probably look into a swiss made watch.

This watch is sort of what I expected. I will not be returning it. However, be advised that it comes with a chain. Don't order a separate one. It does not have a back that opens to show the moving mechanism of the watch. The front barely shows the mechanism, and the hands are small and difficult to see in your eyesight is compromised. These features should have been detailed in the description of the product. It keeps fairly good time. It loses about two minutes per day, and must be set back accordingly.

The watch is perfect; however, the clips on the chain are made of very malleable metal. Spring steel would be the best metal of choice. This makes using the chain a very delicate option. Therefore the entire chain is only decorative rather than of functional use. About $2 in a hardware store remedies the clip issue (price for a gold coloured brass clip). The chain itself is made of very stout metal and is capable of being both decorative and functional. That aside, you won't find a better price than on Amazon.

This watch was purchased for my 89 year old dad for Christmas. I gave him a much less dressier pocket watch years ago, and he still uses it daily. So, I purchased this 14K Gold plated watch for him to wear when he is going to chruch and other social functions. I personally love the design, like how he will be able to read the time with the cover still closed, or he can pop the crown to see the time and show off the beauty of the watch face. I haven't given it to him yet, as it is a Christmas gift, but i'm sure he will love it. Beautiful watch at a fair price. What's not to love?
