These are beautifully crafted little earrings. Both times I wore them I received compliments. The hooks are silver as well - my ears are very sensitive to materials and only like silver and gold. These are definitely silver. They have a very delicate and artisan like design. The back of the earrings have the abalone shell very clearly shown. My only critique is that the abalone shell isn't very visible from the front (see pictures). That being - they are still very beautiful. I would highly recommend them if you are attracted to the design.
