This brooch is just fun! It's got a celtic pattern engraved around the outside edge, and the center is a large stone of whatever color you chose - mine being purple. The stone color depends on the lighting, and goes from subtle (almost black) to a deep amethyst. It looks nice either way.The back has a very thick pin with a tension clasp. This is NOT for delicate garments! It may also leave a hole in finely woven items; just something to be aware of. You could always pin the brooch to a strip of cloth, then safety pin the cloth strip to your garment, if you are worried about the large brooch pin. It will work fine on coarse weaves, knit sweaters, etc.It even works as a purse concho!It's a good way to dress up whatever clothing or accessories you choose.

I really love anything Celtic so to get this for around $15 is pretty good. I will say, it is more costume quality than for everyday use or reenactment. I feel like the emerald color is a little cheesy in this. I really wish the Celtic not work would stick out more. As is, it Blends into the background. For those two things I give four out of five stars. Otherwise, the item is very sturdy and well made! I think that this company makes some really nice products at an affordable price. I think with a few minor adjustments, like making the background a different color than the not work, this could be a great buckle. Such a sturdy item.

I don't wear kilts but really loved the look of this pin so I ordered it. It did take over 2 weeks to arrive but it's the Christmas holiday season so that isn't much of a surprise.It is really quite pretty and bold. I believe the stone is made of glass but that doesn't take away from how pretty this pin is.Whether you need to secure a kilt or just like large jewelry you will like this pin.Recommended.

This is a hefty brooch and will be great for holding heavy plaid or other fabric together. The product images are very accurate, though I think the engraved details could look better. It is very shallow and when the light shines on it the knot design is a bit hard to make out.

This piece is positively massive, but it's light enough to be worn comfortably all day and is perfect for holding scarves or shawls in place. The craftsmanship and attention to detail is phenomenal and its just plain pretty to look at! A very versatile piece to add to anyone's collection.

Beautiful silver brooch with green jewel center. Will look beautiful on a kilt or scarf. Larger than I expected, but will be worn during a parade so can be seen from a distance. Lovely piece of jewelry.

This comes in a nice box for gifting.It's a very sturdy brooch. It doesn't feel cheap or flimsy. There's no point on this pin where the metal is thin.The crystal is a very pretty shade of true Emerald Green. Mine often needs a good polishing. It seems like these crystals get very dirty easily, and they reflect any skin oil that gets on them at all. The pin where you attach it is thick, and while it doesn't close all the way it is secure. It doesn't really latch instead it has a C style closure. I really like that the pen does not go past the c-closure. It can't poke you. It's not a thin pin, so it can leave holes in your garment. The trade-off is that it's a never going to easily break, or snag and get pulled off. I've got mixed feelings about the metal setting. I like that it looks like silver and it looks good from a distance. However, there is a gouge in the back that looks like an error in the casting. Luckily it doesn't show up on the front. 4.5 stars. It's a very nice design with a very Celtic look.
