This watch is incredible, and I would have no trouble choosing it over most watches that cost 5 to 10 times as much.Aesthetics:On the wrist, it looks like a nice field watch, which just happens to be my favorite style of watch. It is very easy to read and has a stylish look to it. The LCD is not obvious to someone glancing at and doesn't detract from the appearance. As many people have noted, the bottom is plastic, which you will see if you look closely, but if someone sees the watch on your wrist, it looks like a stylish, quality field watch. It is a 42mm case, but some of that is taken up by the buttons. The size of the face is closer to what you would see on a 38-40mm watch. Not a problem for me, but if you have large wrists, it may look smaller than you expected.Functionality:Amazing. As a watch, it is super easy to read with great lume. If it had no other features, it would be perfectly adequate as a watch. Of course, my wrist is valuable real estate, and using it for something that only shows the time seems a waste. That's where this watch really shines. All the stylish and readability advantages of an analog clock with the functions of a digital. I use the stop watch, timer, and alarm all the time. The world time is handy to have too.A few days ago I was needing to keep a 3 minute timer running repeatedly while keeping track of time as well. On this watch it was effortless - I could look down and quickly see the time and the timer status, plus be alerted when it ended. This is easier than any other timekeeping device out there including digital watches and phones. The watch is really easy to use too. You'll need to download the Casio 5161 manual in English online, but once you understand what buttons do what, it's very simple to operate, and I don't think I'll need to look at the manual again unless I need to do something like change how it syncs with the atomic clock.Comfort and feel:It's a very comfortable watch. The plastic construction makes it feel lightweight, but it also looks solidly built. Many reviews complain about the strap. It definitely was very stiff when I bought it, but I was able to soften it by bending with my hands for a couple of minutes. I find it quite comfortable, and it looks nice. If you don't like it, the strap can easily be replaced.Water Resistance: Rated to 50m, which Casio says is good for showering and swimming. I haven't swam with it, but I have taken a couple showers with it on, and it held up just fine.Timekeeping and Battery:The solar charging works well, and I haven't had any trouble keeping it charged even though I mainly wear it indoors or under a sleeve. It's probably a good idea to get the charge up to high when you first get it, but the battery appears to last for a long time.I live out of the expected range of the atomic clock signal, so I don't get time syncs at home. Regardless, the watch holds it's time very well. It had clearly been synced sometime before it shipped, and after about a week of owning it, I checked it against a website displaying the atomic clock time. It was off by less than 2 seconds (There was a delay in delivery, so it took two weeks to arrive). 2 seconds in at least 3 weeks is pretty darn good!Downsides:Virtually none. I wish it had a 4th button, so I could move forward and backwards when setting a timer or alarm. I honestly don't know why it doesn't because there's room for one and other versions of the wave ceptor have them. The LCD can be a little hard to read using the light at night. It seems this could be made better by moving the led to the other side of the face, but it's not a huge deal.Other than that, there's nothing to dislike! I have a few other watches, but they don't get worn at all now.

I bought this watch to replace a 500 dollar Invicta automatic that works just fine it just literally feels like a pendulum weight on my wrist.... because that's literally what it is. The first thing I noticed was what everyone else does, how stuff the band is, people....do you not know how to break in a watch band? You roll up one side one direction, unroll it, roll it the other and repeat, do that a few times switch to the other side and do it...keep doing it till the fabric relaxes. Look at my pic, I've had it a couple days and it is the most comfortable watch I've ever had. In Japan Casio watches come in very fancy blue boxes that are like other expensive watch brand boxes. American ones usually come in a paper box. It had a Japanese tag around the band that says Multiband 6 in English and everything else in Japanese. Manual was still in shrink wrap. Didn't open it but it says 5161 in huge numbers on one side. That's the module number go to casio.com scroll all the way to the bottom, select support and manuals or something similar, select your language, then the next page will ask you to enter module number. Enter 5161 and it will pop up with a link to click on to download the .pdf manual in the language you selected. Very easy to set up, select the city that's in your time zone, change language to English, than do a manual receive in TIME MODE with nothing else running and don't hit a single key, the screen goes blank, the second hand will indicate receiving or working. It took me 3 tries to manually successfully receive, every night I wear my watch and it still successfully receives in less than a minute after midnight, I do live in a state directly next to Colorado so I get excellent signal. Did you know a few years back they nearly shut down the atomic clock radio tower in boulder Colorado, what idiot would think to do that, they refused to shut it down government was saying we don't need it anymore so it's waisting money, do you know how many damn watches, clocks, weather systems, data systems and etc... Rely on that tower including all of us Casio Multiband 6 wearers and other watch companies make them too. How stupid. It's not going to be shut down anymore luckily. This was like 10 years ago. Now about the watch. The watch hands and dial numbers all glow so bright the ENTIRE night, it's incredible, it's not a faint glow it looks like they are LED's but it is from stored energy in the numbers from light, but it's not your usual afterglow crap. It's like nothing I've seen before. The watch sets the analog and digital together and they are perfectly perfectly in sync. I wanted to give you an example of the quality and accuracy of the watch. The minute hand moves a small notch every 10 seconds, the hands always land perfectly on the market, it's 6 seconds after it turned to to that minute so both the minute hand is still exactly on the minute marker, look how perfectly the hands line up with the face marks. It's a Japanese movement watch meaning the internal time system is made in Japan, it was cased in Thailand. That means Thailand took all Japanese parts the case and the module, dropped the module in the case, and screwed the back on. They did not do the hard stuff (you get what I'm saying.) It was made in Japan, cased in Thailand then sent back to Japan as a Japanese model. The US version of this watch is not as nice. This is an EXTREMELY scratch proof man made crystal. It has a plastic middle section stainless steel back, and a stainless steel plate on the front, it's not all plastic it's just made kinda like a G-SHOCK. My dad's limited edition blue tough Solar Multiband 6 G-Shock cost me less than this did. It's all digital though. The Ana-digi on this with the large enough yet small enough dot matrix display is awesome to have, has 5 alarms, and many other functions. Yet is small enough to not be noticed and just look like an expensive watch. I hate watches with batteries, tried the smartwatch thing, tried a stupidly expensive watch, I always end up back to Casio. They make the longest lasting, toughest, most practical, and some extremely un practical but still awesome watches...if I could give this 10 stars I would, and a word of advice, give the band a chance by just breaking it in manually. After a couple of days it is so cushy and comfortable and looks wicked with this watch.

This review is for the CASIO WAVE CEPTOR SOLAR MULTIBAND6 WVA-M630B-1AJF. If you do not have this EXACT model, search until you see a review for your SPECIFIC model! OK, this is a very nice watch! It had the features I wanted. I wanted hour, minute and second hands with Arabic numerals all those are lumened. It has a light. It is solar powered. It is set to the Atomic Clock and sets the time for your region automatically. Sometimes it is hit or miss with this feature, this watch set as soon as I entered my home city. Both analog and digital features change automatically. It sets the day and date automatically. It receives the signal daily and resets if it needs to. Here are some problems, the face body of the watch is plastic. The lug mounts for the spring bars are plastic. That's not good. That area receives alot of pressure and it may not last long. The instructions are in Japanese. No big deal. Google the model # and the English instructions are right online. This model IS NOT a 19mm LUG! I REPEAT, THIS WATCH DOES NOT HAVE A 19mmLUG! IT IS 20mm! THE LUG FOR THIS WATCH IS 20mm! The plastic may break this watch before it's time. I was going to make this my daily, I don't know if this will take the abuse I put watches through. Time will tell! See what I did there.? Anyway, great features and maybe the body will hold up. I wish the entire thing was steel, because this would be a KILLER daily wear! I'll wear it until it breaks and then I will change my review. Hope this review helps!
