I've bought Casio watches for many years. They're a great value for the price. I wouldn't count on the battery lasting 10 years like they say. Maybe 5-6 years. The watches are durable and stylish. I don't replace the battery.....I just buy another Casio watch!!!!!!

I’ve had many Casio watches, including the great ‘Mudman’ when they were more affordable.Those watches could easily be set-up by myself. The Directions were clear and the watches easily set up for immediate wear and tear and lasted for a very long time before the Battery would finally give out, the watch became so discolored that I would place them in a box and buy another.This watch is the most confounded one I’ve ever had to set the proper time and other functions that I find it necessary to take it to a Watch Repair Store to have the time/ date, etc., all set up. I’ve tried, my wife tried and we were both inadequate to the task. Now I must find a watch repairman who will hopefully have better luck.I would not buy this particular Casio again. But I will buy another Casio at some point.Casio makes great watches.

I purchased this watch purely for aesthetic, I think it looks great! Since I work mostly at a desk I don’t really need to spend double or treble on a G-Shock and it looks very similar. It weighs about half of my gshock. Definitely feels less sturdy.Setup, following the instructions, is pretty straightforward. You do need to set up the analog, digital and world time all separately… but really it’s a one time deal.The analog hands are pretty easy to read.Now the negatives which I knew, are that the negative display is very hard to read at the best of times. I’m sure younger folks without the need for reading glasses will find it better than older individuals.The other issue the backlight is terrible.Also be aware that the face can scratch easily.The reason I gave this four stars even with the issues above is that I think it looks awesome for the price! Just know about the hard to read negative display, the poor back-lighting issues and probably don’t wear it on a construction job site!

I've had my share of both Casio regular and G-shock watches and pretty familiar with relatively consistent programming and functions of their other designs. This one turned out to be an outlier. It was supposed to be an upgrade from my last Casio, AQ-S810W, but in many ways it was a downgrade.I like how it looks, at least in tan/black color scheme. It supposedly has a 10-year battery, which I prefer over the Solar charging. With solar, when the watch wasn't exposed to enough light, it'd go into a "hibernation" mode and effectively shut off the display to preserve and extend battery life, which happened on more than one occasion and usually at night. So a 10-year battery is a plus.The LCD display on this model shows both date and day of the week in the same view (on AQS810W you had to change the view, which was really annoying)HDC700 also has a dual clock, but it's implemented very poorly- to the point where it's practically useless. It seemed like a good idea to have the analog hands show the time in the current/home location and for the LCD to show the time in another time zone, however there's only one calendar and it's tied to the LCD clock, so it'll roll over the day/date at midnight and no longer be in sync with the time shown by the hands. This pretty much defeats the purpose of having a dual clock.What's worse , there's no time zone setting on either clock (AQS810W had one), so when traveling you have to manually adjust analog and/or LCD clocks every time, instead of simply switching the clock(s) to a different time zone. What were Casio engineers thinking removing the most basic timezone setting function on an electronic watch in the 21st century! Definitely an inexcusable ommision.Adjusting the analog clock is also unnecessarily cumbersome - the minute hand moves in 20 sec increments instead of 60sec increments (and syncing up the seconds by resetting a seconds counter like Casio other models do).It seems from other reviews some people can't even figure out how to set the analog clock (or expect it'll sync with the LCD clock), tho the instructions are actually quite clear.The hands only move in one direction, clock-wise, so to set the time an hour earlier you actually have to move the hands ahead by 23 hours. And they move very slowly, even in "high speed" mode. Extremely travel unfriendly design.Also, as others have mentioned, the illumination is pretty much useless...All this renders this watch less than desirable for frequent travelers.
