Awesome looking watch. You need to see it in person to really appreciate the great design in aesthetics on this piece. I was on the hunt for a GG-1000 or GWG-1000 and I saw this at the store. It's on the big side but man does it ooze masculinity. I love the simple look, the black and stainless contrast, the large size yet not oversized appearance. It wears smaller than it actually is. The comfy resin band plays a big part in that. It's very comfortable and it enables this to be worn dressed down daily. I like the positive displays. They look better than the same models with the negative display. The led light looks and works great at night. The handle loom is fine. There is no numeral loom, which I wish it had but I think it would sacrifice aesthetics to have. I bought this mainly for looks. It simply a great design. The solar works great. I wish it had the multi-band but I didn't think paying an extra $125 USD was worth it to get the W model. I can set the time easily, thank you very much. As for the other features, I am not a feature snob. I just want a nice watch that I can easily read and be proud of. For those that like a size reference, I posted this next to a GG-1000-1a. I'm 6'2", 200 lbs, about a 7.25-7.5" wrist. It wears great. I wouldn't want to go much bigger than this GST or the GG for daily use. If you have sub 7" wrists, this will definitely look big on you so make sure that is what you want.

First let me begin by saying I don't usually write reviews unless im very impressed...that being said, holy crap this is a nice watch! For $170, I was a bit skeptical if this was worth it at first, but now that I have it on my wrist, all Im gonna say is get it if you want it, you won't regret it. Its a brush/shiny silver color and high quality build. The strap is resin/plastic, but gives a pretty comfy feel. It's solar powered, has 5 alarms and hourly signals, timer, stopwatch with lap feature, 48 different cities to choose from (also can be manually set). Japanese movement which is damn good and a sweeet feature called auto light or something where you can flick your wrist naturally as if wanting to see the time and the light comes on. Daylight savings time is optional along with date/hourly adjustments on the left digital screen. Battery charges with sunlight and also has power savings mode for when it's stored in a dark place (will keep time running correctly).Looks sporty/masculine..beast watch. 200m water resistant and shock resistant which is more than enough for good durability. This is my first G shock (have quite a watch selection) and I'm more than satisfied with it. Can't keep my eyes off it! The light and the phosphorus hands make it look like a high tech iron man accessory lol maybe im exaggerating, but get it for yourself and be the judge.

I am a modest watch collector. For years, my preference was for automatic, self-winding timepieces, not at the highesrt price point, but of good looks and great quality, especially those from Oris and Christopher Ward. While I still enjoy wearing watches made by these notable brands, sometime in May of this year, I started eying Casio G-Shocks. Eight years ago, I purchased two all-digital, solar/atomic Casios. One is a titanium, all-digital Pathfinder and the other is a black resin, all-digital watch with a case diameter somewhere between 43 and 45 inches. Both are still in active rotation. Now jump ahead to Spring 2019. A few months ago, perusing the Amazon website for attractive watches, I discovered analog/digital G-Shock, G-Steel timepieces. Here is what I learned was important to me:1. While I appreciate the solar/atomic features of my eight-year-old Casios, the solar element is more important than the atomic.2. I prefer a digital display of black numerals on a light background rather than the "blackout" look. With age, I have cultivated a heightened appreciation for legibility!3. I need a watch with illumination that with a turn of the wrist quickly lights the whole watch face-both the digital and analog components.4. I want a watch that is analog plus digital.5. I favor a watch that is neither too small nor too big.6. I like a watch that can be worn confidently and comfortably with business casual attire as well as weekend wear.7. I favor a look that is more understated than overstated, but one that still captures attention and curiosity (i.e., my own as well as others). Here's the good news: I found the perfect watch in a Men's Casio G-Shock, G-Steel Black and Blue Solar Resin Watch (Model GSTS300G-1A2). Success! Then, a few days later, I returned to Amazon to make another purchase (not a watch). That's when I stumbled upon the Men's G-Shock, G-Steel watch with a brushed steel bezel (Model GSTS1101ACR), the watrch presented here. The diameter of its face was slightly larger at 52.4 mm, but that was still within my sweet spot range.Much to my surprise, I placed the order for the second G-Shock, G-Steel watch. I sealed the deal by heading to the checkout without hitting the "save for later" option. While the features on the watch face are the same as those on the G-Shock, G-Steel black and blue resin watch, there are significant differences. The size, bezel, and coloration define what they are: timepieces that distinguish themselves while still sharing common characteristics. I love them both for all seven reasons I described earlier. These G-Shock, G-Steel watches cannot be pigeon-holed. They are unique in form and function and possess a well-deserved reputation for ruggedness and quality. Both watches do get noticed, by others on occasion and by me all the time! I am happy with these purchases. If you decide to purchase a G-Shock, G-Steel timepiece, I hope you are as satisfied as I am. I'm sure you will be.
