These were a gift for a February birthday. Normally we might have purchased the usual purple amethyst stone in jewelry, but wanted something a little different. These earrings are beautiful in a somewhat modern design which shows off the light green color . Some reviews had mentioned that they were almost clear, but that was not the case with these. They are a good size; not too small, and not so big they look cheap. The way the stone is placed allows for more light to reflect, and they really very striking when worn. The recipient has had lots of compliments, which makes this a great purchase.

These are described as "spectacular" green amethyst, but the ones I got have nearly no color and look more like grayish crystals than green amethyst. There was NOTHING in the package or the box which says what kind of stones these are--so you'd have to tell whomever they are for what they are. The packaging (which would, one would think, be used as a gift box) had two large stickers on the bottom and side which couldn't be removed without damage.
