This is a very high-quality item. The crown is plated metal, not plastic so it is very sturdy and stays put. The sash is of strong material as well; the pearls on the pin are of good size and makes for a great set. This is an excellent quality item and would not hesitate at all to buy it again. It was terrific for my wife's birthday.
