Very beautiful handwork, this is honestly Etsy-quality, but Amazon-priced, and I love that. I got these as a mixed-faith prayer bead set for myself. The beads on the bottom of the circle close to the fish are great because there’s just enough beads for an Our Father, 10 Hail Mary’s and a Glory Be, and Mystery bead. There’s two, instead of 5 of that pattern, but if you’re decent at counting it’s not hard to remember to switch sides until you’ve completed 5 decades of the rosary. There’s also 108 beads plus the fish and “guru bead” the fish is attached to if you want to use this for mantras. I got this in honor of prayers for Christ, as well as Mannanan Mac Lir / Bres (Brigid’s husband in Irish mythology). That’s my faith, a mixed faith, and not everyone is comfortable with that but it’s my soul’s truth. So, I was really happy to find something like this that works really great as a tool of prayer and meditation for my own mixed-faith purposes. That’s probably not what most people are going to buy these beads for, and that’s fine, but if that idea resonates for anyone else too, thought I’d just share that these work great for that purpose. I love that the beads also came included with a whale inside a heart pin, which reminds me of Jonah and the Whale from the Bible, and how Jonah had to have a change of heart while inside the whale, to listen to the Divine’s plan instead of listening to ego and prejudice. “Connect with yourself”— listen to your heart! Really love this set! Comes in a very pretty gift box too, so it makes a wonderful gift if you’re shopping for something for someone.
