I have a lot of purses and I don't just shove them in my closet, I like them displays on bookshelves in my room so I can enjoy them even when I'm not wearing them. I always wanted to get these kind of display stands so I could display the purses I have on the top shelf in the back row. These are perfect for that. They were easy to assemble, have an adjustable height feature so I can put them to any length I need. They seem nice and sturdy. I'll be buying more of these.

These handbag stands were very easy to assemble. Mine came with instructions but in case yours does not - the pole already has a screw in the bottom, so you just unscrew it, thread it through the bottom plate and re-screw, that's it. The base is pretty heavy and should be able to hold almost any purse (maybe not giant ones made of thick and heavy real leather but in that case you could put a weight on it). The extension pole gives you enough vertical space that you should be okay with the majority of tote bags and backpacks. You could also use this for other things, like scarves, large necklaces, belts.
