It’s a cute necklace and my 8 year old loved receiving it but I gave it to her on May 5th and it broke within a week. It will no longer stay shut and I can’t figure out why.

When buying jewelry site unseen you can be a little skeptical. I purchased this as a gift for my daughter's friend. The photos came with good quality and you can actually see them. The inscription was also well engraved. It all came nicely packaged and wrapped up.The mother was brought to tears!

The chain for this necklace is stamped 925 (for the purity of the silver), but there is no stamping on the locket itself, so I am suspicious whether it is plated sterling. I also feel that the locket feels sort of plastic-y, as if it has a coating on it or something.That said, I wasn't expecting heirloom jewelry here, and just like the little doo-dad of the heart. I think it is overpriced for what it is, but it's basically the little trinket I was looking for, so I'm happy enough with it.I prefer a classic rose gold color and this is rather coppery... but I think that's represented in the product photos, and in this regard, I got what I expected.
