My middle son needed a second chain to wear while playing baseball. One chain just wasn't enough. He wanted the gold version, because...gold.If he's going to have a ridiculous amount of bling while out on the field, at least it's a cross with a good message. Philippians 4:13 says that "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." It's shortened, of course, on the necklace. It's a good message for athletes. Gives them a little extra confidence that they can do great things. As such, I also try to teach my sons that any and all glory on the field should be given to God.The necklace looks good. Seems well made. Apparently it's made of stainless steel, which is good since it's likely to be worn during actual games. Hopefully it'll hold up. For parents, this necklace will be the cheapest expense of travel ball you'll ever have, so enjoy that. Share the message with your child and discuss it. The message, of course, is equally applicable to older athletes. So go hit dingers, and give the glory away.
