This is just what my daughter wanted, so I ordered it. I didn't really look at the description, but I assume that she did. When it came, I have to admit, the locket was very small; not what I was expecting. Otherwise, nice necklace & very pretty.

It's so hard to make a purchase when there aren't any reviews to help you along the way. In fact, I tend to avoid items that haven't yet proven themselves. For me it's like stepping off of a cliff into a pitch black abyss and hoping there's something soft at the bottom. What would EVER possess me to do such a thing?!?! And yet here we are...So I have been wanting a lock pendant to add to my signature collection of layered necklaces. I'm drawn to unique pieces like a bug to lights. Sadly, as we've all seen it happen, sometimes that light leads to getting zapped. It's an unfortunate thing.So while there wasn't much to go by, I was still able to reduce my tension. Afterall, of the 10 noted purchases, they were all 5 star ratings (Who are you people?!?!). That alone should've set off the suspicion alarm but that forsaken light had me in it's evil grip.While I saw the measurements listed (which, funny thing, puts more emphasis on the length of the chain) I paid more attention to the pictures that were being modeled. This one appeared dainty for sure. However, I'm actually very petite (tiny but mighty says the hubby) and what fits small on a great number of people actually turns out to be proportionate to me. In fact, I usually have a hard time finding things that don't end up looking gawdy. This appeared to not only be delicate, it also seemed to have that elegant sparkle that I was craving. My happy self all but started singing as I skipped my way to the mailbox the moment I knew it had been delivered. The suspense as I opened my package was as though I was about to have my fate revealed to me. I didn't even know I was holding my breath until I heard the shock escape with my surprised expression. TINY is the understatement of the day. For the first time in my life I think I know how it must feel to be a giant. I'm also perplexed as to how the pendant that fits the model in the pictures (albeit small) is the SAME one that doesn't quite cover the TIP of my recently turned 5 year old's PINKY. LOL! It was actually too small for HER. The cross she wears daily is several times greater than the size of this pendant all on it's own.While it does sparkle, the distance between me and the vanity mirror is enough to make you unsure of what exactly you're looking at. Nevermind that even IF you were able to fit it on a chain that is about 2 mm wide, chances are, even the width of a slender chain as such would be too much. It would completely overpower the presence of this particular charm. Especially because it even lacks in depth. Lucky for me it was something I bought myself as opposed to having sent it as a gift without seeing it first. Talk about an awkward situation.So with all of the strange things I've seen people complain about in reviews, I'm not sure I believe that not 1 person would have brought this up. Interesting indeed.Needless to say, this isn't exactly what I had in mind. Not only did I take that dreaded step and discover there was no padding at the bottom, I got zapped when I got there. Therefore, when it comes to my hunt for a lock pendant??? You got it! It's back to the drawing board I go.
