Works excellent, it’s tacky and opens the watch back’s easy. All you need is this ball and a watch holder and your in business!

Has worked well. No complaints. Helps to get the case backs off and back on.

For one watch I had to revert to the adjustable pin tool to loosen the back of a watch, then I used the ball. For all other watch backs after that the ball was all I needed to unscrew them.I may not have used it correctly the first time. For the ease of use I am very satisfied. It may seem a bit pricey, but it has paid for itself just in time saved alone.

Out of the box, it was pretty useless because how under inflated it was. Can be pumped up with a basketball needle, so make sure you have one. Some watches may not come from factory as tight, but I could not remove the back from my SRPD. Had to use a separate tool first, and now I can use this. So it is useful, but not a complete replacement for a watch back removal tool.

Good tool for removing watch back covers. Relatively inexpensive and one size fits all. I haven’t had any problems removing several watch back covers, only issue is when reinstalling the cover, you can’t tell how tight the cover is. Not a professional tool, but very handy for removing covers without, scratching or damaging them.

Let me start by saying that I normally write fewer review than I used to when I believed in the system, but once in a while something surprises me and I give some time for some discerning customers trying to help to make or not a good decision.I am a retired engineer that for a hobby fix, or at least try to improve old watches. I also work with leather and make wristwatches straps. In any case, another important aspect for you to know is that I love and recognize good quality tools, so I am totally sold to the Brand "Bergeon". Not all the time I can afford to purchase their products but I really try to choose the Swiss brand. A few months ago, I bought ( I could afford it) but never used the 8008 black ball. I bought it more to increase the number of their products I own and finally got to try it. I own an oldish Orient automatic that I bought second hand in a trip to Argentina. The watch needs some re-painting on their face but keeps reasonably good time . I tried to open its screw back some time ago with the cheap tool in the picture and I couldn't do it even if I almost broke the damm thing. While reading the comments on Amazon for this ball that I had almost forgotten I had , I decided to give it a go the next day. To my surprise, the case opened with almost no effort. So, I can assure you that the product does what it supposed to do, surprising even someone who is supposed to know about friction factors and applied forces. You will be pleasantly surprised too.

I purchased this item after watching the jeweler open the back of my watch to change the battery. I was amazed that he was able to remove the watch case back using only the BERGEON ball. No chance of scratching the case or case back like other case back wrenches can and often do. A must for anyone that want to do their own watch Maintenace.

Bought it with the intention of opening a polygonal caseback. Sadly the ball failed to provide enough grip to open the watch. The ball is well made and incorporates a valve for refilling its air content. Grip is provided by the nature of the material , not by a coating or finish. Therefore I anticipate that its performance should not degrade with use.If your caseback is not very tight, or you just need a quick tool to finish the openning process, give this a try. If you are looking for a tool to open tight casebacks with strange shapes or fluted perimeters, you might be better served with other tools.
