This is a large arm ring of about 2 and a half ounces of pewter. It is made for a larger wrist, and very masculine. You can adjust its size by heating it on a radiator, but I found warming it in my hands and bending it worked fine. Pewter is a soft metal. The temperature that would soften bronze would liquefy pewter. The design is based on similar arm rings about a thousand years ago or more. Its classic Viking. People have an idea Vikings were dirty and barbaric, but infact, compared to Europeans, they were fastidiously clean. Remains from Viking settled areas a bout a thousand years ago find jewlelry, combs, barettes, , nail files, tweezers, ear cleaners, finger nail picks, etc. They prided their selves in grooming, cleanliness, and making functional instruments to further their quest for useable land. Their symbolism relates to spirituality, even down to bodily adornment.Asgard is a small company in Ireland that prides itself on making historically based furnishings.
