This is a fantastic watch strap. The leather feels like much better quality than the price would have you believe. It's still rather new and the leather hasn't really been "broken in" but it's still very comfortable to wear. Surprisingly soft on the inside of the strap. The hardware is solid. Seriously, I've seen much more expensive straps that weren't nearly as good. I got it to replace the shoddy metal bracelet on a relatively inexpensive but still nice looking watch and, let me tell you, the entire thing looks like a luxury watch now. I've gotten multiple compliments on a watch set that, in the grand scheme of things, is meant as a beater watch. My only complaint...and it's more of a nitpick but I still haven't mastered quickly putting the watch on. I have to snap one side down awkwardly then try and thread the other side through the loops and I guide it into a locked position. I don't know if it's the design or a general case of acute hamfistedness on the part of the user but, either way, it has resulted in some colorful language being employed in the first few days of use.Let me take a moment here to mention something else that surprised me...and this is going to sound strange....but the box this thing came in is awesome as well. Seriously, when I opened the Amazon box and pulled the small wood box out I actually said "wow". Actually...is it wood? Might be mdf but I don't feel like getting out of bed (where I'm typing this) to go check. Either way, it's sturdy and cool and I'll be re-purposing it for sure. Trust me, you'll see what I'm talking about if you get this strap. You'll be like "wow" and I'll be all "I know, right?". I mean, I won't actually be THERE when you open it because that would be weird. I'm talking figuratively. Although, if you wanted to invite me over to open the box with you I would probably still decline because it would be rather awkward. The installation tool is heavy and well built and has earned a special place in my tool box along with some of my other precision screwdrivers and eyeglass repair stuff. I actually used it to make a small adjustment to the band on another watch of mine (Tag Heuer). So it's proven its worth.

After paying more than anticipated to replace a watch strap on a Carl Bucherer watch in the past, I searched for options and found this crocodile leather strap with the deployment buckle. The price was shockingly low for the band that is described as real crocodile and not a crocodile imprinted band.My original preference was for the brown/silver strap, which unfortunately was not available in the 18mm, so I have the black/silver strap. The band really great on the watch. The deployment buckle concept is supposed to be less wear and tear on the strap, but was a little more challenging to put the watch on initially until I got the concept down. The buckle does leave an indentation on my wrist as the strap is snug on my wrist, but not too uncomfortable. For a watch strap with real crocodile leather and a deployment buckle, the price point for this item was a no brainer. Time will tell how the strap holds up and if the deployment buckle does reduce the wear and tear on the strap.

Pros: This watch band is great bang for buck. It gives your watch a subtle facelift and your wrist a little more comfort. I’m not an expert, but the alligator leather feels real— and looks amazing.Cons: The color was not accurately represented. It is shown as a darker brown but in real life it is a bourbon / dark walnut color. Luckily, this worked out even better because I pair it with a gold watch. Also, The clasp is on the thicker side.TL;DR: get it, great looks & value but color might be off

This is a really nice watch band, especially for the price. This replaces a brown alligator band on one of my Citizen Eco-drive watches for which a Citizen replacement strap is $170! I don't really wear brown straps (or the matching brown shoes), so I really needed to get a black strap to make the watch useful. The stitching looks good, it has the proper "plump" feel to the band and is perfectly sized. Unlike another reviewer, I found that there is plenty of space for medium sized wrists. It comes partially assembled and has all the tools you need to replace an existing strap -- including a spring-bar tool for safely and easily removing and replacing pins. The only tricky part was to figure out how to get the deployment clasp on the part of the watch with the buckle holes in it. I finally figured out that the clasp (wit the pin in it to go into the holes) opens up all the way if you pull it firmly from the back.

Is it real alligator? I doubt it. Can 99% of people tell? Not likely. My watch manufacturer wanted $450 to switch from original steel bracelet to alligator strap. At less than $30, this thing is a real steal. The steel bracelet my watch came with did not provide a snug fit and I prefer the elegant leather strap look. It comes with everything you need to make the switch. My jeweler switched these out for me in 10 minutes for free! The double locking clasps are of very good quality. Only potential issue would be is if you have a very big wrist.

The alligator skin is very beautiful and supple and it has eight adjustment holes, compared to the usual seven. The strap is very thin; so thin the gap is substantial in the clasp where the long end feeds into the pin/clamp piece. Would recommend only for very thin-profile dress watches. My main complaint is the white topstitching is very uneven along one side of the long section. The stitching is impressive and flawless along the other three sides, making the one bad run stand out vividly. I probably got a bad one and should have returned it. I decided to attach it and wear it for a few days and just couldn't live with the flawed stitching (my bad). If I ever purchased again (doubtful), I would avoid the white top-stitch version. I ordered another (name brand) strap and will use the deployant clasp on the new one, rationalizing that I'll only lose nineteen dollars on the purchase since deployant clasps sell for around ten bucks. I'll keep the gator in a drawer as a back-up for emergency use.
