These were smaller than I expected. The turtles are like smaller than my pinky nail - a lot smaller. They are like small studs. And the chain is very delicate, small links, maybe 3 inches long. But they are VERY SHINY, very white, bright silver. They are really delicate and, well, the word "lovely" comes to mind, even though I hate that old fashioned word. :) I really like them, in fact I ordered another pair.In one ear I have 2 standard holes. I looped one of these through both holes, with the turtle placed like a stud and the stick hanging down.In the other ear I have one high up cartilage piercing then 3 lower standard piercings. I went in through the front of the cartilage hole so that the turtle sits almost like a stud in that top hole. The, I pulled the chain around and went through the front of my uppermost lower hole. Then, I ran out of chain. So I ordered another one to go in the two bottom holes.Why?Because I like to have earrings in but I'm too lazy to take them in and out each day, and I'm very sensitive to sleeping with earrings in - I can't do it, they bother my ears when I lay on the pillow. These I can't feel at all. I can sleep in them NO problem. So comfy! So I'm putting them in and just leaving them for the forseeable future. :)
