How to adjust the strap?

The length of the watch can be adjusted freely using the watch adjuster included in the package.

(Search for the keyword "removal" in the "questions & answers" section on the product detail page to view the teaching video.)

How to wind?

Although this is a self winding watch, the kinetic energy provided by the movement of the hand is not enough to support the continuous operation of the watch. Therefore, manual winding is required to ensure that the watch provides the correct time.

It’s very, very nice

A Alps self winding watch. Winding does not keep watch operating.

I like the fact it’s self winding and I can see all the components moving very cool.

This is a great watch for the price! It arrived today, no fancy packaging just a white box. It does however come with a link removal tool for the band, which is nice. I was impressed by the look of this watch. I opted for the Gold & Blue face with the silver and gold band. It looks great. The band is large so the first thing I did was knock out two links. Super easy to do. It's light and feels good on the wrist. A little thick compared to my much more expensive automatics. Detail is decent, I really can't see any flaws on this one. The only questions are time keeping accuracy and longevity. Time keeping looks pretty about right and you can only tell longevity over the course of time. I may buy another...this inexpensive little watch has me smiling from ear to ear.

Was looking to get an automatic battery-free watch at a good price. Watch has a nice style. Was a little lighter than expected, but looks great for the price. Got it as a second watch in order to have one automatic watch. Time keeping is accurate. Will last all day when winding the crown clockwise each morning before putting on. The self winding feature (used by wearing the watch) simply keeps it from discharging as fast as leaving it on a table. What's nice is you can see the tension spring to tell how 'charged up it is'. As the coil relaxes, it expands towards the outside of the tension gear. A simply winding each morning will keep it running all day for sure. And the best part is, no batteries. If it stops running, it simply wasn't wound enough. Just turn the crown clockwise a few cranks until the tension spring moves back to the center and eliminates the visible hole. When it's fully charged, you will see the tension spring filling the entire gear, as it is built into the design of the watch. I would buy again.

The media could not be loaded.  I wanted to write a review because I was skeptical of this watch given that it was inexpensive. It has a nice weight and looks classy. There were many color and pattern options which is nice. It looks great and I have gotten quite a few compliments. I can’t remember if the product pictures showed the bottom of the watch and I know no one is going to see it while it’s on my wrist however I enjoy looking at it before I put it on each time. I included a video to show it. The bottom is as stylish as the top. I cannot vouch for water resistance yet and I will come back and alter my review if there is any issues. I take all my watches into the hot tub for the official test and just have not gotten around to it. I have two complaints that would not stop me from purchasing another one of these watches if needed. First, The wristband is extremely difficult to adjust with the tool included. The adjustment tool bent when I tried to use it and then broke. I spent a couple dollars and brought it to the jeweler and he also had a very difficult time adjusting it. Not a dealbreaker for me but might be for some. Second, I know I’m older now but I needed a microscope AND and magnifier glass to read the instructions! This is a self winding watch and it seems to keep good time. It stays wound through the movements of your wrist while wearing it. With that said if you don’t wear it regularly you will have to set it and wind it before using it. Enjoy

I did a lot of research to get an expensive automatic watch. This seemed to be one of the best buys for an entirely metal watch. I've owned automatics before, and I like them, but unfortunately, they don't always last too long. I will revisit this review after I've owned it for a couple of years. First off, great quality looking watch. I do wish it had a date function, but that's ok. Also, a pro-tip. On inexpensive watches, you should typically avoid the gold-tone versions, as the gold will wear off fairly quickly. I bought the all silver, with a blue face, and love it! I also like that winding is an option, not always available on automatic winding watches. I did not rate the water resistance, as I have had it in water yet.

Update: Watch stopped working at 2:10p after less than a day. Wasn't the mainspring as it wasn't wound down. Turning the crown does nothing. Possibly defective parts. Worked an office job and had it on my left hand during meetings, used it to enter a meeting at 1:30p before noticing at 2:15 that it had stopped running at 2:10p. Will attempt a return. This is a stupidly great deal of a watch. Let's get through some rather quick basics:-I'm wearing it during stay at home pandemic so can't really judge the automatic winding mechanism fairly. That being said, I'm no stranger to winding watches.-When you first receive this watch, more than likely it will need to be wound. If you have good eyes look for the main spring, it's a coiled spring in the upper right of the face. It should be fairly coiled into a cylinder, if you see spaces inbetween them, tighten it: Turn the crown(the knob) clockwise a bit, if you have good eyes you can follow the mainstring as it tightens. Every morning if you're in a desk job or don't move or wear the watch frequently enough you'll have to wind this up a bit to keep accurate time. otherwise it'll slow down. This is a STANDARD of mechanical watches - IT IS NOT A FLAW. If you can't see the mainspring just give the crown a few clockwise turns until you feel tension then stop. You'll get the hang of it. Shouldn't take much every morning unless you don't wear it all for a few days.-Hey tinkers and watch makers/repair geeks! You can remove the face! Which makes this a a full skeleton if you wanted to swing that way or have an alternate face you want to kick in for funsies. Nothing too weird or abnormal to expect on my review of it's internals. As you are well aware it is still a mechanical watch, and stupid easy to break/lose parts with - so be careful.-Non-Watch tinkers. You can go to any watch shop, or jewelry store to get the links removed/adjusted. Most do it for free. You can also buy a link removal kit online and watch some youtube videos to learn to do it yourself. The pins that hold the links in place are nothing too fancy, just elaborate clips that have one direction(marked on the links) you have to push them with. A pushboard pin can do it, but really you should get a kit. It's like $7, comes in handy. Or just stop by a jewelry store/repair shop. It's a great idea to find a repair shop too when you have these mechanical watches as you may need some repairs down the road(such as a new spring for example) or if the face gets scratched.
