Neither my wife nor I are jewelry experts, so I can’t comment on the value of this Sterling Silver Link Chain Necklace, or say how it compares to others. But I can offer some opinions about its appearance and quality.First, it’s TINY! From the pictures, the chain looks to be about the same size as the ones on the old tennis bracelets that were popular decades ago. But it’s not. It’s extremely thin, dainty, delicate and lightweight—you can easily hold it coiled up in the palm of your hand and not even be aware it’s there. That’s not a diss on the product; rather, my expectations were faulty. It’s just not as beefy as I thought it would be.Second, it’s SHINY. There’s no way people are not going to notice it when you wear it. It shines as brilliantly as a diamond in a goat’s…well, let’s just say it’s REALLY bright. I expected it to have more of a subtle, subdued sheen, but, again, my expectations were wrong.Packaged simply in a tiny two-by-two-inch Ziploc plastic bag, the necklace itself is well made and seems sturdy for its size. It’s nicely finished, with no rough spots or sharp edges anywhere. The clasp is as tiny as the necklace, and a little fussy to open and close. Since the necklace is too small to slip over one’s head when it’s closed, getting it on and off is a two-person job, because there’s no way—at least, for my wife and me—to find and operate the minuscule clasp without seeing it, which we can’t do regardless of whether it’s in the front or the back. If you don’t live with a significant other, you might want to consider a longer chain or a different necklace.As a gift or to expand your own jewelry collection, this attractive, well-made necklace could fill the bill for you.
