I have been looking at crucifix necklaces for a long time now, and have always found some reason why I did not like what I was seeing, most often it was either the size, or the price being charged for the metal being used, but also the overall look in terms of quality and intricacy of the design. When I saw this crucifix, I was drawn to it primarily for its size, as what I was hoping for was a cross no taller than an inch in height. I also liked the fact that for its smaller size, it not only is relatively intricate in its design, and but also the intricacy remained quite clear during its production, and was not lost somewhere along the line between beginning and end. So overall, I like the look of this crucifix. This cross also comes with a sterling chain, and a somewhat decorative sterling bale. Both chain and bale are stamped 925 for sterling. While the chain itself is quite thin and looks a bit delicate, it is also attractive and a rope style, making the pendant easy to slide on the chain. The cross itself does not have any marking as to metal being used stamped anywhere on it, although there is actually enough room to mark it in tiny letters or numbers, I think. I chose this cross to be plated in white gold because if/when the plating does wear off, white gold is the closest color to sterling and would be the least noticeable if or as that happens. The cross itself came in a cute cardboard jewelry box. Rather than having a top you lift off to open the box up, it has a drawer instead you pull out using a small ribbon handle that is attached to the side of the box. The seller actually packaged the necklace in a 10 inch long narrow ziplock type bag, so the chain would remain in position during shipping, so it is unlikely to get tangled being jostled around. Overall, I am happy with this purchase.
